Tom's Fire Pits has many fire pit designs and styles to choose from. Any of our designs can be made to function as either a wood-burning, gas-burning, or waterfall pit.
Hi, this is Tom from Tom's Fire Pits! Each of my handmade fire pits is a unique, artisan, one-of-a-kind work of art. A single fire pit takes about 2 weeks to make as I personally hand-draw and construct each pit. I cut the design out by hand with a torch. The pits are made from 1/4 inch thick steel or 3/16 inch thick stainless steel (See St. Louis Arch design, 304). This makes them very durable. Because they are made from high-quality steel accompanied by high-quality construction, these pits can become family heirlooms to be passed down through generations. They are a lasting conversation piece that your family and friends will make memories around for years to come. Speaking of St. Louis, I was one of the selected artists to participate in their 2022 Art Fair.
What are your fire pit options?
Our fire pits can be used in a variety of ways, but come as a standard fire pit with a free grate included. Some customers have made their fire pits into a water feature by adding their own water pumps or waterfalls. Others have added LED lighting or foggers. It is highly recommended that water features only be used in our stainless steel pits.
We can add centerpiece ornaments to your fire pit for an additional fee. Centerpiece ornament options include dolphins, trees, wolves, musical instruments, etc.
What is a fire pit made out of?
We offer two different types of material options to ensure durability: 1/4 inch thick steel or 3/16 inch thick stainless steel (the same type of stainless that's in the St. Louis Arch, 304)
Are the 3/16" stainless steel pits rust-free?
No. They will have patina or rust areas due to the large amounts of welding and torching each one goes through. The stainless steel spheres can be cleaned up and maintained with 3M Scotch-Brite pads. The sphere is made out of 304 stainless steel and the pedestal base is made out of regular steel that will need to be maintained.
How does the 1/4" steel pit weather?
The 1/4" steel pits will patina (rust). Some of our customers prefer the patina look. Other customers have treated their fire pits using PAM cooking spray (oil), high-temperature grill paint like Rust-Oleum High Heat grill paint, or other methods they may find suitable.
